Last Thursday was the annual MMAP (Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program) Recognition Event and Region 9 was well represented, as always. Each year, Regional Coordinators are asked to nominate people from their teams for the above awards. Names and regions are removed from the nominations and all Regional Coordinators get to vote on the nominations. Out of all the nominations – and there were many – the 16 Regional Coordinators chose the two from Region 9. Both Kitty and Barb deserve the awards they earned and, as chair of the Coordinators Advisory Council, I was happy to be the one who presented each with her award. Kitty and Barb have the dedication and compassion MMAP counselors are known for and work tirelessly to ensure Medicare beneficiaries get the services they need.

Other award recipients from the region included:

  •        Most Volunteer Hours – Jan Williamson, (760) Roscommon County
  •        Most Counseling Hours for a Volunteer – Jan Williamson (672)
  •        Most Counseling Hours for a Paid In-Kind Team Member – Danielle Kleinhuizen, (547) Otsego County
  •        Most Outreach Hours for a Volunteer – Jan Williamson (38)
  •        Most Outreach Hours for a Paid In-Kind Team Member – Sarah Skowronski, (20) Otsego County
  •        Region 9 – Outstanding Achievement on Performance Measures

We have a very dedicated and knowledgeable team of MMAP counselors and administrative assistants who consistently bring honor and recognition to our region with the quality service they provide our beneficiaries. We just keep proving we’re the best in the state! Congratulations to all who won individual awards and to all who are a part of our team who work continue to meet and exceed expectations so that Region 9 attains Outstanding Achievement!

Thank you MMAP Counselors for all you do.
