EMPOWERING A FAMILY THROUGH SUPPORT & RESOURCE CONNECTION.

In the spring of 2024, NEMCSA was contacted by a client of the Food Program and is going through a rough time. He had recently had a stroke and lost his beloved wife. He was struggling both physically and financially. In addition, the client was facing having to go without heat as his propane tank needed to be filled, and he was unable to afford to pay for the fill. After contacting NEMCSA's Community Resource Coordinator, the client explained his situation and asked for help. The CRC then researched possible funding sources to help the client with the cost of the fill. Thankfully, funds were located, and the client could fill his propane tank and not lose his heat source. After the CRC confirmed with the client NEMCSA would be able to help, the client stated, "This brings tears to my eyes, this is such a blessing, thank you all so much!" In addition to receiving financial assistance for the propane fill, NEMCSA staff also determined eligibility for other NEMCSA programs as he was referred to the Weatherization Program for services as well.
