NEMCSA Named a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace for 2026

NEMCSA Recognized as a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace for 2026

Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency (NEMCSA) is proud to announce that it has once again been recognized as a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace for 2026, an honor based entirely on feedback from employees.

The Top Workplaces program recognizes organizations that create exceptional workplace cultures where employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. Winners are determined through confidential employee surveys that measure areas such as workplace culture, leadership, communication, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

For NEMCSA, this recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the voices and experiences of our staff. The anonymous survey results demonstrated the strong sense of purpose, teamwork, and commitment that define the organization and support its mission across northeast Michigan.

Several members of NEMCSA's leadership team traveled to Detroit to attend the Top Workplaces awards ceremony and celebrate the achievement alongside other recognized organizations from across the state.

"This award is particularly special because it comes directly from our employees," said NEMCSA leadership. "Our staff are the heart of our organization. Their dedication to serving our communities and supporting one another creates a workplace culture we are incredibly proud of."

As a Community Action Agency serving northeast Michigan, NEMCSA works to strengthen communities and help individuals and families achieve greater stability and self-sufficiency. The agency believes that a positive workplace culture is essential to delivering high-quality services and creating meaningful impact throughout the region.

NEMCSA extends its sincere gratitude to its employees for their honest feedback, commitment, and passion for serving others. Their efforts continue to make NEMCSA not only a great place to work, but also a stronger partner for the communities it serves.

Being named a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace for 2026 is both an honor and a reminder of the importance of investing in people, fostering collaboration, and maintaining a workplace culture where employees can thrive. NEMCSA looks forward to building on this success and continuing to create an environment where employees feel engaged, supported, and inspired by the agency's mission.
