The Alpena County Human Services Coordinating Council (HSCC) is starting its first-ever group project to directly benefit those we serve. In conjunction with numerous human service agencies, Alpena is starting a Basic Needs (Hygiene) Pantry to be housed at St. Bernard’s Church as part of the Friendship Room meal program. At a recent meeting, Michael Blewett (Services Coordinator for RSVP), volunteered the Annex as a location to collect new deodorant and men’s shaving products.
Starting the week of February 26th, small collection boxes will be available in each of the Annex kitchens where you may bring new deodorant and men’s shaving products for drop-off. Please consider picking up an extra item or two when you are at the store, and remember to save those (or related) items when staying at hotels during your travels!
