Head Start Receives Grant for Natural Play Ground

Head Start Receives Grant for Natural Play Ground from Midland Area Community Foundation

Thanks to a grant provided by the Midland Area Community Foundation, a local Head Start will be able to create a natural playground space that will be used as an extended classroom this fall. The grant provided to Head Start is with the focus area in developing talent in kindergarten readiness.

“Now more than ever, we have been seeking to add more learning areas to the outdoors,” exclaims Jessica Waddell, Head Start Teacher. “This space will provide children with opportunities to safely explore nature while developing social and academic skills."

Dedicated Head Start staff are trained to provide high quality learning experiences and support for children and families to promote their future success. Head Start is currently taking applications for fall, contact Ashley at 989-590-0088, email brycea@nemcsa.org.
