Mittens and Hats to Children in Need

NEMCSA recently received knitted mittens and hats for children in need.

Janet Savage of Imlay City knitted over 25 mittens and hats to donate to children in the Oscoda area. Savage is the mother of the Director of parks Library (Robin savage), and is married to her husband, Bill (a U.S. Veteran) of 54 years. The Savage family often visited Wurtsmith during the summer months in the 1980's, enjoying their summer festivities, including watching the Blue Angels perform their death defying airshows.

“NEMCSA is very appreciative for these items. They were knitted with care and will help keep local children warm into winter of next year,” expresses Frances Ommani, Communication Specialist for NEMCSA. "With temperatures warming up- many will be used for future cold months, helping keeping children warm for a long time!"
