Attendance
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” ~Nelson Mandela
Research shows that there is a direct correlation between a child’s success in school and regular attendance. Children are expected to attend their Center or Group Experience on a regular basis. If something is preventing your child from attending Head Start/Early Head Start/GSRP, we will help you explore all options to resolve this issue.
Center or Group Experience
Your child should be kept at home if he/she does not feel well. We do not want to spread colds, flu, or other communicable diseases.
Home Visits
In the case of a child’s illness, home visits can be done with parents/guardians only. Please contact your home visitor when your child is sick.

Attendance Works is a national and state initiative that promotes better policy and practice around school attendance. We promote tracking chronic absence data for each student beginning in kindergarten, or ideally earlier, and partnering with families and community agencies to intervene when poor attendance is a problem for students or schools.
