NEMCSA offers a comprehensive Poverty Training for community partners—including agencies, businesses, and organizations, designed to align with its mission of empowering people and strengthening communities. By building a deeper understanding of the realities of poverty, this training helps partners more effectively serve individuals and families on their path to thriving and stable families. Participants gain tools to redesign programs, strengthen management and staff skills, and increase success in moving individuals from welfare to work. The training covers the causes of poverty, key economic perspectives, mental models and stress, hidden rules and social norms, communication styles, and strategies to reduce unintentional harm. NEMCSA offers flexible options, including a 2-hour overview, a half-day session, and a full-day training.
