NEMCSA Receives Electric Cargo Van from Consumers Energy
The Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency (NEMCSA) is proud to announce the recent donation of an electric cargo van from Consumers Energy. This contribution represents a significant investment in both community support and clean-energy innovation. The vehicle will strengthen NEMCSA’s capacity to serve families and communities across its multi-county region.
The electric van will support a wide range of agency operations. NEMCSA staff will use the vehicle to participate in community outreach events, expand transportation access for employees traveling between service locations, and safely move equipment, program materials, and supplies essential to various programs.
“We are incredibly grateful,” said Lisa Bolen, Executive Director/CEO of NEMCSA. “I cannot thank Consumers Energy enough for their continuing support of NEMCSA and our mission. Charging stations have been installed at several NEMCSA locations throughout our core county area, making the van an asset to all the communities we serve.”
“Consumers Energy is committed to the communities we serve, and we’re glad to find an opportunity to support a nonprofit organization in NEMSCA that does so much great work in the community,” said Jeff Myrom, Consumers Energy’s director of low and moderate income programs.
Consumers Energy has been active in serving customers with its electric vehicle programs and rebates. This represents the seventh electric van the company has provided to Michigan nonprofit organizations, including the Otsego County Food Pantry.
The addition of this electric cargo van not only improves NEMCSA’s logistical capabilities but also aligns with the agency’s commitment to sustainability, cost-effective operations, and innovative community service. This partnership highlights how public-private collaboration can expand access, strengthen local support systems, and bring long-term benefits to Northeast Michigan.
