NEMCSA Delivers Poverty Training to Consumers Energy Staff Across Michigan

NEMCSA recently had the honor of partnering with Consumers Energy to deliver poverty awareness training to staff across two Michigan locations. Members of NEMCSA's Poverty Action Team: Frances Ommani, Strategy & Development Director &  Amanda Bergeron, Community Resource & BOSS Program Manager, led a full day of training in Jackson, MI, followed by a half-day session in South Haven.

The training sessions were rich with conversation, practical tools, and meaningful reflection,  creating space for Consumers Energy staff to deepen their understanding of poverty and the barriers many of their customers face every day.

A large training room filled with Consumers Energy staff seated at round tables, engaged in NEMCSA's Poverty Education training in Jackson, MI. At the front of the room, a presenter stands near a projected "NEMCSA Poverty Education" slide on a blue accent wall. Training materials are visible on the tables. The room is full, reflecting strong attendance and engagement.

This partnership was made possible through the dedication of Kristen Goodman, Manager of Energy Assistance Programs at Consumers Energy, who championed bringing this training to her organization.

NEMCSA is deeply grateful for this opportunity and looks forward to continuing to grow this impactful relationship with Consumers Energy.
