NEMCSA to Provide Head Start and Early Head Start Services in St. Clair County
Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency, Inc. (NEMCSA) is proud to announce that it will assume responsibility for Head Start and Early Head Start services in St. Clair County beginning October 1, 2025.
This transition ensures that children and families in the county will continue receiving high-quality early childhood education, care, and support. NEMCSA is committed to building on the strong foundation established by local staff while ensuring continuity of care for families.
“NEMCSA is honored to expand our early childhood services into St. Clair County,” said Lisa Bolen, Executive Director/CEO. “For over 57 years, our mission has been to empower individuals, strengthen families, and create thriving communities. We look forward to bringing that same commitment to the children, families, and staff here.”
Tricia Grifka, NEMCSA’s Early Childhood Services Director, added: “We know the dedication and professionalism it takes to serve young children. Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition that prioritizes families and continuity of care.”
While childcare licensing transitions from the current provider, there may be a brief interruption in services. NEMCSA is working closely with the State of Michigan to minimize any disruption, and families will receive regular updates throughout the process.
