The Bridges of Self-Sufficiency (BOSS) program, administered by NEMCSA, empowers families and individuals to overcome poverty and achieve lasting self-sufficiency through intensive case management, poverty education, and dedicated support. Since its launch in June 2022, the BOSS program has successfully transformed the lives of its participants by helping them secure stable housing, gain employment, improve financial literacy, and become active community members. The program is expanding its reach, partnering with the NEMCSA Early Head Start Program, and extending services to more counties to continue its mission of fostering independence and prosperity.
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program complements these efforts by assisting families in achieving economic independence and homeownership. Through local, community-based resources and coordinated case management, participants work towards self-sufficiency, increased family income, and higher rent payments, with savings deposited into an escrow account for future use. NEMCSA, in partnership with MSHDA, administers the FSS program for eligible Housing Choice Rental Voucher holders across twelve counties.
